Position Overview

Rhino Security Inc. is seeking an experienced Accounts Receivable/Payable Specialist to manage the day-to-day financial operations of our growing security services company. The ideal candidate will be detail-oriented, highly organized, and confident working independently with minimal supervision.

This role requires prior bookkeeping experience and a strong understanding of Canadian accounting practices. Experience working with service-based businesses or payroll-heavy environments is considered an asset.

Key Responsibilities

The Accounts Receivable/Payable Specialist will be responsible for, but not limited to, the following duties:

  • Maintain accurate and up-to-date financial records
  • Record daily financial transactions (accounts payable and receivable)
  • Process and reconcile invoices, receipts, purchase orders, and payments
  • Manage accounts payable, including vendor statements and payment schedules
  • Manage accounts receivable, including invoicing, collections, and follow-ups
  • Perform monthly bank and credit card reconciliations
  • Prepare payroll entries and support payroll processing
  • Track employee hours, deductions, benefits, and remittances
  • Prepare and file GST and other required government remittances
  • Assist with month-end and year-end closing procedures
  • Generate financial reports (profit & loss, balance sheets, cash flow statements)
  • Maintain organized digital and physical financial records
  • Communicate with management regarding financial discrepancies or concerns
  • Support external accountants and auditors as required
  • Ensure compliance with company policies and applicable regulations

Required Qualifications

  • Minimum 2–3 years of bookkeeping experience (required)
  • Strong understanding of bookkeeping principles and accounting best practices
  • Experience with Quickbooks Online
  • Proficient in Microsoft Excel and basic office software
  • Knowledge of Canadian payroll and tax requirements
  • Excellent attention to detail and accuracy
  • Strong time-management and organizational skills
  • Ability to handle confidential financial information professionally
  • Ability to work independently and meet deadlines

Preferred Assets

  • Experience in a service-based or security industry environment
  • Payroll experience involving multiple employees and shift-based staffing
  • Post-secondary education in accounting or bookkeeping (certificate or diploma)
