The Quality Controller is responsible for the quality assurance processes within the manufacturing plant, ensuring all door products meet required specifications for quality, function, and reliability before delivery to the customer. Quality Controller fosters a culture of continuous improvement, collaborates across departments to resolve quality-related challenges, and ensures all documentation is completed accurately and consistently in compliance with regulatory and customer expectations.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS (Fundamental Job Responsibilities):
- Conduct visual and dimensional inspections of cabinet doors and panels to ensure compliance with quality standards.
- Accurately verify quantities, sizes, and profiles of products against order specifications.
- Identify, document, and track non-conformities; collaborate with the Production Manager to determine root causes and corrective actions.
- Maintain clean and organized work areas and support the cleaning and preparation of doors for production.
- Participate in team meetings, safety sessions, and process improvement initiatives.
- Assist with training production staff on quality procedures and support cross-functional workflows.
- Utilize scheduling tools (e.g., Smartsheet) to monitor production progress and flag discrepancies.
- Support machine operators, material handling, and equipment operation as needed
Qualifications:
- Minimum high school diploma or equivalent.
- 2+ years' experience in cabinet/door manufacturing and/or quality control preferred.
- Ability to interpret technical drawings and specifications.
- Strong attention to detail, problem-solving skills, and focus on continuous improvement.
- Basic computer skills, including Microsoft Office and email communication.
- Ability to lift up to 50 lbs repeatedly and adhere to PPE/safety protocols.
Working Conditions:
- Schedule primarily Monday to Friday, 8:00 AM – 4:30 PM, with flexibility required.
- Physical demands include loading/unloading goods and equipment operation.
- Must be eligible to work in Canada.
