About Us

Halal Fine Foods is a certified food manufacturing and co-packing facility dedicated to producing high-quality, safe, and compliant halal food products. We operate under CFIA, OMAFRA, and SQF standards, with a strong focus on product integrity, safety, and consistency.

We are looking for a Quality Control Technician to join our growing team and help maintain the highest standards of quality across all production lines.

Position Overview

As a Quality Control Technician, you will play a key role in ensuring that all products meet company and regulatory standards for quality and safety. You'll work closely with our production and packaging teams, assist in inspections, perform testing, and maintain documentation to support our SQF and CFIA programs.

Responsibilities

  • Follow SQF team responsibilities to ensure consistent product safety.
  • Monitor and inspect Critical Control Points (CCPs) and labeling specifications.
  • Inspect production materials for defects and compliance.
  • Check chemical concentrations and perform knife inspections.
  • Calibrate scales and thermometers regularly.
  • Record, summarize, and interpret experimental and monitoring data neatly and accurately.
  • Provide GMP (Good Manufacturing Practices) training to new hires.
  • Participate in regulatory audits (internal and external) and assist with corrective actions.
  • Ensure ongoing compliance with CFIA requirements.
  • Conduct ATP testing and pre-operational checks before production starts.
  • Perform daily operational inspections and document findings.
  • Work with consultants to maintain the SQF program and CFIA certifications.
  • Create and maintain QA/QC control documentation and reports.
  • Supervise production and packaging departments to ensure compliance and efficiency.
  • Collaborate cross-functionally to uphold high production and safety standards.

Requirements

  • Previous experience in food manufacturing or QA/QC (preferred).
  • Knowledge of SQF, and CFIA standards.
  • Strong attention to detail and organizational skills.
  • Ability to work independently and within a team.
  • Excellent communication and documentation abilities.
  • Flexibility to assist in multiple departments as needed.

Job Types: Full-time, Permanent

Pay: $20.00-$24.00 per hour

Expected hours: 40 – 60 per week

Work Location: In person
