PURPOSE:

Made-Rite Meat Products has an exciting opportunity for a responsible Quality Assurance & Control Technician, to be responsible for checking the quality of all incoming and outgoing material and products, as well as production procedures. The ideal candidate will possess a trained eye for detail and will be reliable and committed. In depth knowledge and comprehension of quality standards is essential. Our customers must continue to enjoy high-quality products so our company can continue to achieve long-term success. JOB DESCRIPTION

  • Ensures our products and their manufacturing processes meet food quality and safety standards.
  • Takes responsibility in making sure the workers follow the guidelines related to BRC, GMP, and HACCP. Ensures process guidelines are followed effectively and safely.
  • Checks incoming & outgoing product quality as per the standards.
  • Communicates to Management when there is any problem with incoming material.
  • Monitors BRC, GMP and HACCP Programs and performs record keeping.
  • Inspects packaging, storage, and shipping facilities for conformance to company sanitation and safety standards.
  • Performs Microbial testing.
  • Recommends modifications of existing quality or production standards to achieve optimum quality within limits of production capacity.
  • Ensures products are kept at proper temperatures during production and while in storage, preserving product quality.
  • Completes documentation provided by HACCP Program on a daily basis.
  • Oversees all pest control activities, including overseeing the activities of the Pest Control Provider.
  • Maintains prompt and courteous response to production team requests within the guidelines set forth by the company.
  • Assist on other duties as required.

REQUIREMENTS

  • Degree or Diploma in Food Science or similar is required. (HACCP & GMP certification considered an asset).
  • Experience in the food or meat processing industries considered an asset.
  • Proficient skills in MS Office applications (Word, Excel, and Outlook).
  • Ability to work independently, and as part of a team.
  • Ability to communicate in English, both verbally and in writing.
  • Must be success-driven and have a "can do" attitude.
