Accounting Analyst

Goodfood is looking for an energetic individual that, as a key member of the finance team, will be responsible for completing daily transactional and month-end accounting activities as well as assisting in the payroll process. This role reports to the Director of Accounting.

RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Oversee the verification, processing and entry of supplier invoices;

  • Prepare EFT, cheque and other disbursements;

  • Prepare month-end journal entries, bank reconciliations, reconcile general ledger accounts and complete working papers;

  • Process regular and off-cycle payroll and assist in other payroll-related tasks;

  • Assist in the development of internal processes;

  • Prepare sales tax remittances;

  • Participate in the year-end financial statements audit and payroll process;

  • Produce a variety of ad-hoc reports and analyses.

REQUIREMENTS:

  • Passion for food;

  • Strong ability to work in a constantly changing environment;

  • Comfort in working in both supervised and unsupervised environments;

  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting;

  • 1 - 3 years experience in a similar role;

  • Proficiency in both english and french (oral and written);

  • Proficient with Microsoft office, Google docs, advanced Excel;

  • Strong belief in conducting business ethically;

  • Experience in payroll is an asset;

  • Experience in financial reporting  is an asset;

  • Experience with cloud-based accounting software and ERP systems is an asset.
