Duties

  • Greet customers warmly and provide attentive, personalized service to meet their needs.
  • Conduct product demonstrations to highlight features and benefits, encouraging customer engagement and upselling opportunities.
  • Operate POS (Point of Sale) systems accurately to process transactions efficiently, including cash handling and credit card payments.
  • Assist with merchandising by organizing displays, stocking shelves, and ensuring products are well-presented to attract shoppers.
  • Manage inventory levels by stocking shelves regularly and notifying supervisors of low stock or discrepancies.
  • Maintain excellent phone etiquette when answering inquiries or providing support remotely.
  • Support supervisory staff by supervising team members during shifts when needed, ensuring smooth store operations.
  • Apply retail math skills for daily cash reconciliation and sales reporting.
  • Engage in basic math calculations for pricing, discounts, and promotions.
  • Conduct product demos to educate customers about new or featured items, enhancing their shopping experience.
  • Promote upselling techniques to maximize sales opportunities while respecting customer preferences.

Requirements

  • Previous experience in retail sales or grocery stores is preferred but not mandatory; a strong willingness to learn is essential.
  • Familiarity with POS systems and cash handling procedures ensures smooth transaction processing.
  • Bilingual abilities are highly valued to serve diverse customer bases effectively.
  • Excellent communication skills—both verbal and written—are necessary for engaging with customers and team members alike.
  • Demonstrated supervising experience is a plus, indicating leadership potential within the team.
  • Strong customer service skills with a friendly attitude and professional phone etiquette are crucial for building lasting relationships.
  • Ability to perform retail math accurately for sales transactions, discounts, and inventory management.
  • Knowledge of merchandising standards and stocking procedures helps maintain an attractive store environment.
