Here's what you need to know about the role:

  • Full-time, permanent position;
  • Evening shift, Monday to Friday, 2:00 PM to 10:30 PM;
  • Starting salary at 20.72$/hour, then from 3–12 months: $22.90/hour, from 12–24 months: $25.08/hour, from 24–36 months: $26.17/hour, from 36+ months: $27.25/hour
  • $1/hour evening shift premium

Here are the main responsibilities for this machine operator role in Kitchener:

  • Operate machinery safely and follow all shop procedures and safety protocols
  • Operate the bender machine within the production plant
  • Work with the rebar cutting machine for rebar production
  • Clean machines and work areas regularly
  • Conduct daily machine inspections before each shift, promptly reporting any irregularities to maintenance to minimize downtime
  • Comply with AGF's Health & Safety policies and the Occupational Health & Safety Act
  • Perform other related duties as assigned

About You: The ideal candidate will have the following skills and experience.

  • 1-2 years of experience in a similar role in manufacturing;
  • Basic math/measurement skills (an asset);
  • Ability to learn various types of manufacturing equipment;
  • Ability to work physically – lift/move up to 50lbs;
  • Willingness and capacity to work outside in varying weather conditions, and perform physical work;
  • Good communication skills, Multi-tasking and a strong capacity for teamwork.
