The Machine Operator is responsible for the setup and safe operation of various metal fabrication equipment, including the CNC Plasma Machine, Iron Worker, Forklift, Band Saw, Overhead Crane, Brake and Shear, Press Machine, chamfering tools, and grinders. This role involves cutting, forming, and finishing steel, stainless steel, and aluminum components according to specifications and production schedules. This position requires strong mechanical skills, attention to detail, and a commitment to quality and workplace safety.

Qualifications & Skills:

  • More than 1 year of experience in a manufacturing, metal fabrication, or machine operation role preferred
  • Hands-on experience or training with CNC plasma machines, iron workers, shears, brake presses, band saws, and press machines is an asset
  • Ability to safely operate forklifts and overhead cranes
  • Competent in reading and interpreting production schedules, blueprints, and measuring tools (tape measures, gauges, squares, etc.)
  • Strong mechanical aptitude with the ability to perform basic machine setup, troubleshooting, and maintenance
  • Familiarity with shop math and metalworking principles (material types, thickness, tolerances, etc.)
  • Excellent attention to detail and a strong focus on quality and safety
  • Ability to follow standard operating procedures and complete safety and inspection checklists
  • Dependable, self-motivated, and able to work both independently and as part of a team
  • Willingness to learn new equipment and procedures as required

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $19.50 per hour
