The Royal Hamilton Yacht Club (RHYC), established in 1888 on the shores of Hamilton Harbour, is a vibrant and friendly private club offering exceptional dining, events, sailing programs, and waterfront experiences. We are seeking a dynamic and hands-on Food & Beverage Manager to lead our F&B operations and deliver an outstanding experience to our members and guests.
Job Overview
The Food & Beverage Manager oversees the day-to-day operations of the dining room, bar, patio, and events. This role includes staff leadership, scheduling, training, inventory management, menu planning collaboration, and ensuring high service standards. The ideal candidate is organized, people-focused, calm under pressure, and passionate about hospitality.
Key Responsibilities
- Hire, train, and supervise restaurant staff
- Oversee daily service operations to ensure consistent, high-quality member experiences.
- Manage scheduling, labour budgets, staffing levels, and onboarding.
- End-to-end management of event sales, planning, and execution.
- Work closely with the Chef and General Manager to plan menus, specials, events, and promotions.
- Maintain inventory, beverage ordering, supplier relations, and cost controls.
- Ensure compliance with A.G.C.O. regulations, food safety standards, and club policies.
- Plan and coordinate special events, regattas, banquets, and member functions.
- Handle member feedback professionally and maintain strong member relationships.
- Monitor cleanliness, organization, and readiness of dining areas, bar, patio, and event spaces.
- Create a positive, team-oriented work environment.
Qualifications
- 2+ years of experience in hospitality management (restaurant, club, or hotel environment).
- Smart Serve Certification (required).
- Exceptional leadership, communication, and customer service skills.
- Strong organizational and time-management abilities.
- Experience with scheduling platforms (e.g., 7shifts) and POS systems (Clubspot experience an asset but not mandatory).
- Ability to work evenings, weekends, and holidays as needed during peak season.
- Knowledge of food & beverage cost control and inventory procedures.
- Event coordination experience is an asset.
