i. Apply knowledge of trauma-informed care and the dynamics of homelessness to develop and implement effective support strategies;

ii. Use harm reduction approaches to increase individual's capacity for a successful shelter stay

iii. Provide crisis prevention, intervention and support using harm reduction principles for residents experiencing mental health/substance use challenges;

iv. Adhere to policies and procedures of the organization (the shelter provider) and Shelter Standards.

v. Other duties as required

Job Type: Casual

Pay: $20.00-$21.00 per hour

Ability to commute/relocate:

  • Toronto, ON (M9C): reliably commute or plan to relocate before starting work (required)

Licence/Certification:

  • CPI or De-escalation Certification (required)
  • First Aid / CPR Certification (required)
  • Overdose Prevention and Naloxone Administration Certificate (required)
  • Shelter Standards Certificate or Equivalent (required)
