Role Details:

As a Pulp Mill Operator based at our Visy Tumut paper mill, you are responsible for the safe, efficient and effective operation and monitoring of plant and equipment within the Pulp Mill.

  • Work across various machinery and systems including Digesters, Fibreline, Re-causticizing, Lime Kiln, etc.
  • Conduct in-process inspection and checks using the DCS along with physical in-field inspections
  • Identify and analyze process control maintenance requirements, and to automatically generate required work orders through DCS
  • Ensure complex systems Continuous improvement plans and programs are feasible and are beneficial to the Mill
  • Develop short to medium-term plans and solutions to optimize paper production and ensure competitiveness in the market

What You Will Bring: 

  • Experience within any of the following areas; Pulp Making, Power Plant Operations, Chemical or Electrical Engineering
  • Solid prior experience in a Pulp Mill, Refinery or similar complex high risk plant environment
  • Boiler and Turbine ticket is highly advantageous
  • You thrive in a fast-paced environment and can demonstrate your mechanical aptitude and ability to troubleshoot complex production issues under pressure
  • You have a safety-first mindset and comply with OHS&E policies and procedures at all times
