Colexiv Law

is seeking a lawyer with
3-5 years of experience

in one or more of commercial leasing, commercial real estate, construction or corporate law.  This is a remote first role, ideal for someone ready to move on from Bay Street for better work-life balance without giving up top caliber work.

The successful candidate will have a strong work ethic, keen attention to detail and have a clear understanding of the value of relationships and being solution-oriented.  Working in a team environment with former Bay Street lawyers, law clerks and assistants, the ideal candidate will have the opportunity to have independent carriage of leasing, general contracting, corporate and financing matters, as well as any other client needs that arise, with ample mentorship and support as needed.

Responsibilities and Duties

  • Handling of all aspects of commercial leasing, real estate management, construction related matters, and operational issues and contracts, and commercial real estate transactions including purchases, sales, and financing.
  • Reviewing and negotiating contracts, communicating with clients, reviewing title, interpreting contracts to assist property management personnel, and assisting in resolution of disputes.
  • Providing legal updates, blog writing, social media marketing, giving seminars both internal and external
  • Assisting in the administration and management of the firm, if interested

Required Experience

  • 3-5 years of experience working in commercial leasing, commercial real estate, construction or corporate law at a reputable law firm
  • Ability to work independently to negotiate and finalize leases and other real estate related agreements
  • Self-motivated
  • Licensed with the Law Society of Ontario (licensing in Alberta or BC an asset)
  • Software: Experience with Microsoft Office, Word, Excel, Powerpoint
  • Comfort with using legal AI
  • Experience with Clio, Docusign and Teraview are an asset
  • Attention to detail and strong work ethic
  • Ability to work under pressure and meet deadlines
  • Excellent organizational, time management, interpersonal and communication skills.

Job Type:

Full-time, Permanent

Pay:

Competitive, commensurate with experience ($90k-$140k)

Work Location:

Remote work with regular onsite meetings (mid-town Toronto)
