Duties:
Assist students with developing an understanding of course work.
Explain concepts, clarify information, answer student questions, and offer support.
Help students prepare for tests/exams and assignments.
Model student success strategies.
And other relevant duties as assigned.
Qualifications/Experience:
Current Brandon University student
- Students majoring in Sociology (3rd year or above) preferred
- Strong communication skills and ability to work one-on-one or with a group
- Ability to help students develop their problem-solving skills with enthusiasm
- Demonstrated patience and ability to relate to students with varying learning styles
- Ability to work independently with little or no supervision
- Previous experience as a group tutor is an asset
