Job Summary

We are seeking a friendly and organized Catering Assistant to join our team. This role involves supporting catering events by preparing, serving, and maintaining food service areas to ensure a seamless guest experience. The ideal candidate will have a passion for hospitality, excellent customer service skills, and experience in food handling and food safety protocols. This position offers an opportunity to work in a dynamic environment, providing exceptional service for various events and functions.

Duties

  • Identify and contact potential clients to promote the restaurant's catering services and generate new sales.
  • Market catering packages to businesses, community groups, event planners, and walk-in customers.
  • Respond to catering inquiries, prepare quotes, and follow up to secure bookings.
  • Build and maintain relationships with clients to drive repeat business and referrals.
  • Promote seasonal specials, bulk orders, and new menu items to increase overall catering sales.
  • Maintain an updated database of leads, prospects, and confirmed orders.
  • Coordinate catering orders with the kitchen team to ensure accuracy and timely delivery.
  • Provide excellent customer service to enhance client satisfaction and support future sales growth.
  • Track sales activities, report weekly results, and support management in meeting revenue targets.

Experience

  • Previous restaurant or food industry experience is preferred but not required; training will be provided
  • Experience in guest services or hospitality roles is highly desirable
  • Knowledge of food safety standards and proper food handling techniques is a plus
  • Experience with food preparation or serving at hotel or event venues is advantageous
  • Strong customer service skills with the ability to communicate effectively with guests and team members
  • Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced environment while maintaining attention to detail
