Job Overview

We are seeking a dedicated and skilled Line Cook/Prep Cook in Italian Cuisine to join our vibrant kitchen team. In this role, you will be responsible for preparing high-quality meals and ensuring that all food safety standards are met. The ideal candidate will have a passion for cooking and a commitment to providing exceptional food service in a fast-paced restaurant environment.

Duties

  • Prepare ingredients for cooking, including chopping vegetables, marinating meats, and measuring spices.
  • Cook menu items according to established recipes and presentation standards.
  • Ensure all food handling and sanitation procedures are followed to maintain a clean and safe kitchen environment.
  • Assist in the management of inventory, including ordering supplies and minimizing waste.
  • Collaborate with other kitchen staff to ensure timely service during peak hours.
  • Maintain cleanliness of workstations, utensils, and kitchen equipment throughout the shift.
  • Help train new kitchen staff on food preparation techniques and safety practices as needed.

Experience

  • Previous experience in meal preparation or as a cook in an italian restaurant or food service setting is preferred.
  • Knowledge of food safety regulations and proper food handling techniques is essential.
  • Familiarity with various cooking methods, ingredients, equipment, and procedures within the food industry.
  • Strong teamwork skills with the ability to work efficiently under pressure in a busy kitchen environment.
  • A passion for culinary arts and a willingness to learn new skills in food preparation and cooking.
