Job Overview

We are seeking a detail-oriented and organized Accounts Receivable Clerk to join our accounts department team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for managing incoming payments, maintaining accurate financial records, and ensuring that all transactions are processed efficiently. This role requires strong attention to detail, excellent communication skills and the ability to manage multiple accounts efficiently while maintaining positive client relationships.

Responsibilities

  • Process accounts receivable transactions in a timely manner using customized accounting software.
  • Prepare, issue, and record invoices to clients in accordance with company policies.
  • Prepare incoming payments ( cheques, EFTs, credit cards) and post to appropriate accounts.
  • Perform account reconciliation to ensure accuracy of financial records.
  • Assist with preparation of ROE
  • Maintain accurate records of customer accounts and payment histories.
  • Communicate with clients regarding outstanding invoices and payment inquiries, demonstrating excellent phone etiquette.
  • Analyze accounts receivable data to identify trends and discrepancies.
  • Provide support for bookkeeping tasks as needed, including data entry and account analysis.
  • Utilize negotiation skills to resolve any billing disputes or discrepancies with clients.
  • Assist in preparing financial reports related to accounts receivable activities.
  • Support audit and compliance requirements by maintaining well-organized records.
  • Perform other related duties as assigned by the Accounts Manager.

Experience

  • Previous experience in accounts receivable or related financial services role is preferred.
  • Proficiency in accounting software such as QuickBooks, Sage, or PeopleSoft is highly desirable.
  • Strong bookkeeping and accounting knowledge with a solid understanding of financial principles.
  • Excellent math skills and attention to detail for accurate data entry and analysis.
  • Proven customer service skills with the ability to communicate effectively with clients and team members.
