Director of Business Development & Marketing
who can tell that story to the world – and write the next chapter. Someone who can turn a conversation into an opportunity and express our vision with elegance and wit.

Responsibilities:

Business Development

-      Work closely with Managing Partner and Creative Director to define business development strategy by identifying markets, targets/goals, messaging, tactics, and resources.

-      Research key players / potential clients & brands withing the hospitality, residential and retail sectors in Canada and Globally.

-      Connect directly with potential clients to introduce the firm and participate in meetings to present BURDIFILEK's capabilities and portfolio.

-      Draft RFP response (fee proposals).

-      Maintain client files up to date and prepare print quarterly report on client outreach.

-      Maintain a contact list of prospective clients.

-      Oversee business development and marketing assistant.

Marketing & PR

-      Develop social media content and post stories on various social media platforms.

-      Write press releases, book meetings with writers, photographers, and PR agency when necessary.

-      Work closely with PR Agency during new project launch, monitor progress.

-      Write a bi-annual newsletter of current Burdifilek news and achievements.

-      Oversee & maintain media contact list on office database.

-      Maintain company profiles online and upload new projects, when necessary, on various interior design, architecture and retail platform and identify online similar opportunities.

-      Compile PR and media results and print quarterly reports.

Awards and Competitions

-      Track current and new interior design competitions, determine eligibility, and maintain competition files in database.

-      Prepare entries, prepare visual and written component.

-      Track results + follow up as necessary.

Photography/Graphic co-ordination

-      Prepare PowerPoint presentations for meetings with potential clients.

-      Develop other printed/digital marketing content and collateral as required, providing a consistent voice and aesthetic for the company

-      Oversee project 'photography library' and keep it up to date

Web

-      Work closely with Creative Director with online content

-      Input content additions/changes when needed

Required Skills and Experience:

-      Excellent written and verbal communication skills with proven track record of copy

-      High level of organization and attention to detail

-      Comfortable with multi-tasking in deadline-driven environment

-      Excellent time management skills

-      Demonstrated problem solving and critical thinking skills

years experience in marketing, business development or equivalent education.

-      Associate or bachelor's degree in marketing business or arts related field a plus.

-      Proficiency with Microsoft Office (Microsoft Excel, Microsoft Word)

-      Experience with all social media platforms (Facebook, Twitter, LinkedIn, Instagram, Pinterest)

-      Experience with Adobe Creative Cloud (InDesign, Adobe Photoshop, Canva & Mailchimp)

-      Digital photography and video editing experience a plus

-      Must be based in Toronto
