Job Description: The Administrative Assistant works closely with the Managers of 6000, 6300, CCU and CSSU/Cathlab at Royal University Hospital to assist in establishing, maintaining and improving systems and processes to support the planning and administrative functions of the wards.
The position provides payroll and finance duties as assigned. The incumbent also works closely with the other Administrative Assistants and provides relief, as required (i.e. vacation and illness) 
The position carries out general confidential administrative duties in support of the above mentioned, performs clerical and reception duties, attends and acts as recorder for meetings as required.  

Human Resources Exemption: No

Experience

  • Clerical experience in a healthcare org with increased levels of responsibility

Education

  • Certificate/Diploma from a recognized Business Administration training program

Other Education and Training

  • Medical terminology is an asset

Knowledge and Abilities

  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills
  • Demonstrated high degree of accuracy is required of assigned responsibility
  • Maintain a high level of integrity and confidentiality
  • Ability to utilize computerized assessment & interpretation software packages
