EDPS Property Services provides year-round property maintenance services to property management firms, commercial and industrial property owners, condominium managers and even single family residential home owners.
EDPS is a full-service property maintenance company in the Greater Toronto Area. We are currently looking to add experienced Snow Plow operators and drivers to join our team this winter. As a snow plow operator your duties will include:
Responsibilities:
- Safely and proficiently operate heavy equipment, specifically Wheel Loaders, Skid Steers, and Agricultural/Compact Tractors outfitted with plows, pushers, or buckets for large-scale snow removal.
- Execute detailed snow removal plans by clearing roadways, parking lots, and designated areas, including safely pushing, stacking, and relocating snow piles as directed.
- Conduct thorough pre-shift inspections and maintenance on all assigned machinery and equipment, reporting any mechanical issues promptly to management.
- Diligently maintain a clean and safe job site, taking proactive measures to protect existing landscape, curbing, and property from damage during operations.
- Adhere to all company policies, procedures, and safety protocols, ensuring compliance with all operational safety standards and health & safety regulations.
- Complete and submit all required documentation accurately and promptly, including pre-shift inspection reports, equipment logs, and time-sheets.
- Attend all mandatory safety meetings and fulfill all required health and safety training.
- Report for all shifts fit for duty, strictly adhering to company policy regarding impairment from drugs, alcohol, or medications.
- Maintain 24/7 on-call availability throughout the entire winter season (including weekends and holidays).
- Be prepared to respond to dispatch calls with a maximum one-hour arrival notice.
- Politely and courteously communicate with site personnel, supervisors, and customers as required.
- Document and immediately report any site obstacles, hazards, or property damage observed at client locations.
- Participate in post-event and end-of-season debriefings, contributing operational findings to support continuous improvement.
Requirements:
- Must be available 24/7 on call, including weekends and holidays
- Minimum one (2) year of experience of commercial snow removal preferably in a logistics or outdoor service environment.
- Valid G-class Driver's License and a Clean Driving Abstract
- Must possess reliable personal transportation to and from the dispatch site, which is not accessible by public transit.
- Must be physically capable of heavy labor, including lifting and maneuvering equipment weighing 50 pounds or more.
- Required to work non-traditional hours, including extended and overnight shifts, immediately following the start of a snow event.
- Must own and utilize a functional mobile phone for mandatory dispatch and safety communications.
- Proven ability to multitask, manage time effectively, and maintain professional conduct under high-pressure, time-sensitive conditions.
Attention: A snow plow operator primarily pushes snow to the side of a road, parking lot, or driveway, clearing a path for travel. A snow removal operator goes a step further by hauling the snow away from the property
