Join Our Winter Operations Team

Verdant DBM Inc is hiring motivated Shovellers, Crew Leads, and Equipment Operators to join our snow removal team for the upcoming winter season. Experience is an asset but not required for shovelling positions — we're looking for dependable, hardworking individuals with a positive attitude to help keep our communities safe and clear this winter.

This position may lead to summer employment for the right candidates.

Positions Available

  • Snow Shovellers / Snow Crew Members
  • Crew Leads / Drivers
  • Equipment Operators (Plow Trucks, Tractors, Loaders, Sidewalk Machines)

Key Responsibilities

  • Shovel, blow, and clear snow from sidewalks, driveways, and parking lots.
  • Operate plow trucks, loaders, tractors, and sidewalk machines (for equipment roles).
  • Safely and efficiently remove snow and ice from assigned sites.
  • Pile and relocate snow as directed to maintain safe access.
  • Complete required paperwork accurately and on time.
  • Maintain communication with supervisors and team members.
  • Follow all company safety protocols, procedures, and site expectations.
  • Be available 24/7 on-call during snow or ice events — including overnight, weekends, and holidays (Christmas & New Year's).

Qualifications

  • All Positions:
  • Ability to lift a minimum of 50 lbs.
  • Comfortable working outdoors in all weather conditions (cold, wet, snow, freezing rain, etc.).
  • Strong communication and teamwork skills.
  • Access to a smartphone for communication and reporting.
  • Reliable transportation to and from the yard.
  • Positive attitude and willingness to work long or overnight hours during weather events.
  • Drivers / Crew Leads:
  • Valid Driver's License and clean driving abstract.
  • Minimum 1 year of driving experience.
  • Strong leadership and communication skills.
  • Equipment Operators:
  • Experience with plow trucks, front-end loaders, tractors, or sidewalk snow machines.
  • Understanding of equipment operation and safety procedures.
  • Commercial Driver's License (CDL) is an asset.
