This mid-level role offers a unique opportunity to work on a wide variety of impactful projects, from developing brand assets to creating graphics for collateral, events, websites, and social media. Reporting to the Global Creative Director, you'll play a key role in ensuring Ciena's brand identity shines across all touchpoints.
What you'll do:
Brand asset development
Help build and maintain Ciena's visual brand identity across a variety of design projects, including iconography, infographics, presentations, trade show graphics, advertising, and more.
Contribute to the ongoing development of brand guidelines, templates, and assets.
Creative execution
Flow text and imagery into established templates for print and digital collateral.
Create layouts and designs that align with creative briefs and marketing objectives.
Research and source imagery from stock photo libraries to enhance visual storytelling.
Collaboration and organization
Partner with internal stakeholders and external agencies to deliver high-quality creative assets.
Manage and organize files, layers, and folders for efficient production workflows.
Troubleshoot design software issues and identify solutions.
Quality and timeliness
Ensure all deliverables meet deadlines and maintain the highest quality standards.
Continuously optimize production processes to improve efficiency and output.
The Must Haves
3+ years of experience as a Production Designer or Graphic Designer (in-house or agency).
Bachelor's degree in graphic design, art direction, visual communications, or related field.
Proficiency in Adobe Creative Suite (Photoshop, Illustrator, InDesign, Acrobat, Bridge), Figma, and Microsoft Office.
Portfolio showcasing your design work and mastery of layout, typography, and visual composition.
Strong ability to solve creative problems under tight deadlines.
Exceptional organizational skills and ability to juggle multiple projects simultaneously.
Advanced English proficiency (writing, speaking, and understanding).
Nice to Haves:
Ability to build, organize, and manage a growing iconography library.
Experience designing for global brands or working within established brand guidelines.
Familiarity with production processes for trade shows and events.
Pay Rrange: The salary range for this role in Canada is $57, 800 - $92, 300
Pay ranges at Ciena are designed to accommodate variations in knowledge, skills, experience, market conditions, and locations, reflecting our diverse products, industries, and lines of business. Please note that the pay range information provided in this posting pertains specifically to the primary location, which is the top location listed in case multiple locations are available.
Non-Sales employees may be eligible for a discretionary incentive bonus, while Sales employees may be eligible for a sales commission. In addition to competitive compensation, Ciena offers a comprehensive benefits package, including medical, dental, and vision plans, participation in 401(K) (USA) & DCPP (Canada) with company matching, Employee Stock Purchase Program (ESPP), Employee Assistance Program (EAP), company-paid holidays, paid sick leave, and vacation time.
