Responsibilities

  • Decorate cakes according to customer specifications, including piping, frosting, and applying fondant or other decorative elements
  • Prepare cake fillings, frostings, and other related food items in accordance with recipes and food safety standards
  • Ensure all baked goods are visually appealing and meet quality standards before presentation or delivery
  • Maintain cleanliness and organization of the decorating station and work area in compliance with food safety regulations
  • Assist in the preparation of baked goods as needed, including mixing, baking, and packaging products for sale or delivery
  • Interact with customers to understand their decorating preferences and provide expert recommendations when necessary
  • Follow proper food handling procedures to ensure safety and hygiene at all times
  • Manage multiple decorating projects simultaneously while adhering to deadlines

Skills

  • Proven experience in cake decorating with a strong portfolio showcasing your work
  • Knowledge of food preparation, baking, and food safety practices within the food industry
  • Excellent customer service skills with the ability to communicate effectively with clients and team members
  • Ability to handle multiple tasks efficiently in a fast-paced environment
  • Experience with food handling, packaging, and presentation techniques
  • Kitchen experience including food preparation, cooking, and baking is highly desirable
  • Strong attention to detail with an artistic eye for design and aesthetics
  • Familiarity with kitchen equipment used in cake decoration and baking processes
