Overview

We are seeking a creative and detail-oriented Cake Decorator to join our bakery team. This role involves transforming freshly baked cakes into beautiful, custom-designed masterpieces that delight our customers. The ideal candidate will have a passion for cake decorating, food presentation, and providing excellent customer service in a fast-paced food industry environment. Prior experience in restaurant or bakery settings is preferred, along with a strong understanding of food safety and handling procedures.

Duties

  • Decorate cakes according to customer specifications, using various techniques and tools to create visually appealing designs
  • Prepare cakes for display and sale, including packaging and presentation
  • Assist with baking and food preparation tasks as needed to ensure timely production of baked goods
  • Maintain cleanliness and organization of the decorating station and kitchen area
  • Follow food safety protocols during all stages of cake decoration and handling
  • Interact with customers to understand their decorating requests and provide recommendations when appropriate
  • Ensure all baked goods meet quality standards before they are presented or sold
  • Collaborate with team members to manage workload during busy periods and ensure smooth operation of the bakery

Requirements

  • Proven experience in cake decorating, baking, or food preparation within a restaurant or bakery environment
  • Strong skills in cake decorating techniques, including piping, fondant work, and creative design implementation
  • Knowledge of food handling, safety standards, and sanitation practices in the food industry
  • Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced setting while maintaining attention to detail
  • Excellent customer service skills with a friendly, professional demeanor
  • Basic kitchen experience including food safety procedures and packaging skills
  • Flexibility to work during peak hours, including weekends if required
  • Prior experience in food industry roles such as baking or kitchen work is highly desirable
