Sturgeon Public Schools is currently seeking a
Full-Time Temporary Educational Assistant 2
for a work assignment at Morinville Colony School.

Morinville Colony School serves Kindergarten to Grade 9 students of the Morinville Hutterite Brethren Colony. Constructed in 1999 as a collaborative project between the Colony and Sturgeon Public Schools, this two-room school remains a valued and supported part of the community. The school and Colony work closely together to create a welcoming environment and provide meaningful learning opportunities for all K–9 students.

What You'll Be Doing
Under the direction of the classroom teacher, the Educational Assistant will:

  • Support students across a range of grades and learning needs
  • Assist with academic, social, and behavioural development
  • Provide individualised and small-group support as needed
  • Contribute to a caring, inclusive, and culturally respectful learning environment
  • Collaborate with school staff to promote student success and well-being

What You Bring

  • Educational Assistant or Early Childhood Diploma/Certificate
  • Experience supporting students with Autism or behavioural needs
  • CPR and First Aid
  • Training or experience in behaviour support, TCIS, developmental and emotional regulation strategies
  • Strong interpersonal, communication, and teamwork skills
  • Flexibility, patience, and a student-centred approach
  • Equivalencies combining education, knowledge, and experience may be considered
  • Clear Criminal Record with Vulnerable Sector check
