Position Summary: The Shipping and Receiving Supervisor oversees the daily operations of the shipping, receiving, and warehouse functions to ensure the efficient, accurate, and timely movement of goods.

Primary Responsibilities:

  • Supervise, schedule, and coordinate shipping, receiving, and warehouse personnel to meet operational goals.
  • Oversee the loading, unloading, inspection, and documentation of incoming and outgoing shipments.
  • Verify accuracy of shipments, bills of lading, packing slips, and purchase orders.
  • Ensure compliance with company procedures, customer requirements, and transportation regulations.
  • Maintain accurate inventory records and perform regular cycle counts.
  • Work closely with production, purchasing, and customer service to support on-time deliveries.
  • Select and coordinate with carriers, freight forwarders, and courier services.
  • Train and mentor team members on proper material handling, safety practices, and company procedures.
  • Investigate and resolve shipping/receiving discrepancies or damage claims.
  • Enforce workplace health, safety, and housekeeping standards in the warehouse.
  • Identify and implement process improvements to increase efficiency and reduce costs.
  • Prepare and maintain performance reports on shipping accuracy, turnaround times, and carrier performance.

  • Follow all Occupational Health & Safety Regulations and Company Health & Safety Policies and Procedures.

Educational Requirements:

  • Post Secondary education in logistics, supply chain, or related field preferred.

Required Skills & Expertise:

  • Post-secondary education in logistics, supply chain, or related field preferred.
  • Minimum 3–5 years of experience in shipping/receiving or warehouse operations, with at least 1–2 years in a supervisory role.
  • Knowledge of freight carriers, logistics documentation, and customs processes (if applicable).
  • Strong organizational and problem-solving skills with attention to detail.
  • Proficiency with ERP systems, warehouse management software, and Microsoft Office.
  • Excellent communication and leadership skills to motivate and manage a team.
  • Ability operate forklifts or other warehouse equipment (license/certification may be required).
  • Valid G drivers license
  • Ability to work independently and as a part of a team
  • Strong organizational skills and attention to detail

Equipment/ Tools/ Technology Used:

  • Forklift experience (counter balance)
  • ERP experience (Visual Manufacturing)
