Are you results-driven, self-motivated, and customer-focused? We are seeking a dedicated professional to join our payroll team. Reporting to the Payroll Manager, you will play a critical role in validating bi-weekly payroll processing in compliance with applicable legislation, company policies, collective agreements, and procedures, ensuring all deadlines are met. Additionally, you will review various payroll reports for accuracy and make recommendations to improve efficiency.

About the Role
- Validate the work of Payroll Clerks, ensuring payroll calculations and data input comply with policies, procedures, and legislation.
- Provide guidance on payroll processing and compliance.
- Direct the daily workflow of pay processing to ensure timely completion and adherence to deadlines.
- Review reports daily to identify, investigate, and resolve discrepancies and input errors.
- Analyze current processes and recommend improvements to enhance the department's efficiency and productivity; assist in implementing new initiatives.
- Test payroll system releases and legislative/collective agreement changes, preparing test cases, verifying results, and reporting outcomes.
- Prepare journal entries and account reconciliations.
- Manage third-party payments.
- Assist in the processing of T4s and T4As.
About You
- PCP (Payroll Compliance Practitioner) designation is preferred.
- 3-5 years of payroll experience in a high-volume environment preferred.
- Strong knowledge of payroll legislation and experience working with collective agreements.
- Experience with journal entries and payroll account reconciliations.
- Experience with Workday payroll systems is an asset.
- Demonstrated sound judgment, problem-solving skills, and attention to detail.
- Ability to manage multiple tasks, prioritize, and meet tight deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
- Strong interpersonal, client service, communication, collaboration, and organizational skills.
- Proficiency in MS Excel, Access, Word, and Outlook
