Job Summary

We are seeking a reliable and skilled Driver to join our team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for transporting freight and goods safely and efficiently, ensuring timely deliveries. This role requires a strong focus on safety, mechanical knowledge, and excellent communication skills to coordinate with team members and clients. The Driver will operate various vehicles, including trucks and forklifts, to move freight across different locations, supporting the overall logistics operations of the company.

Responsibilities

  • Safely operate commercial vehicles to transport freight and goods to designated locations.
  • Conduct pre-trip and post-trip inspections of vehicles to ensure safety and compliance with regulations.
  • Load and unload freight using forklifts or manual handling techniques, ensuring proper securing of cargo.
  • Maintain accurate delivery documentation and communicate effectively with dispatchers and clients regarding delivery schedules or issues.
  • Follow all traffic laws, safety protocols, and company policies during transportation activities.
  • Assist with moving freight within warehouses or distribution centers as needed.
  • Perform routine maintenance checks on vehicles and report any mechanical issues promptly to ensure operational readiness.

Skills

  • Mechanical knowledge for vehicle maintenance and troubleshooting.
  • Experience in moving freight efficiently and safely.
  • Proficiency in operating forklifts for loading and unloading cargo.
  • Commercial driving experience with a valid driver's license appropriate for the vehicle type.
  • Knowledge of freight handling procedures and safety regulations.
  • Strong communication skills to coordinate deliveries and report issues clearly.
  • Ability to work independently while maintaining attention to detail and safety standards.
