Responsibilities

  • Record daily financial transactions, including sales, receipts, and disbursements.
  • Manage and reconcile accounts, including bank accounts, credit cards, and general ledgers.
  • Process accounts payable and accounts receivable and manage online banking transactions.
  • Process payroll and prepare cheques for bills.
  • Prepare and file government remittances, such as GST, source deductions, and other forms.
  • Assist with or prepare financial statements and reports, and file tax returns.
  • Coordinate with external accountants and assist with internal office administration.

Required skills and abilities

  • Proficiency with accounting software such as QuickBooks, and Microsoft Excel.
  • Knowledge of fundamental bookkeeping principles and practices.
  • Strong attention to detail and accuracy.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Time management and organizational skills.
  • Ability to adapt to new systems and software.

Educational and experience requirements

  • A college diploma in accounting, bookkeeping, or a related field is often preferred.
  • Some professional accounting courses or completion of the first level of a professional accounting program.
  • At least three years of bookkeeping experience.

Pay: $43,000.00-$62,000.00 per year
