Position: Assistant Manager – P/T until training completed; F/T Monday – Saturday.
Job Description: To provide operational support to the store manager and to assist with the day-to-day store operations.
Hourly Position: Upon Training $19.00 – Completed $21.00
Duties and Responsibilities:
Managing the day to day operations of The Egg Store including inventory tracking, sales records, and reordering supplies.
o Egg inventory – enough of each type – stocked at opening and closing.
o Labels – using ungraded, enriched white, and other labels.
o Cleaning supplies – floors, windows, washroom – order as needed.
o Inventory and stock – manage and reorder products as required.
o Customer Issues/complaints – egg/shell quality.
o Daily check sheets, cleaning records are printed off and filled at the start and end of shift.
o Vending machine restocked full at end of shift.
o Paper trays being maintained, recycled for reuse, thrown out, and stacked for farm pickup.
o Contact trades as required for repairs.
o Observing employee shifts.
o Ensuring labelling is done correctly and review pricing.
o Running errands such as dropping off produce to non-profit organizations and getting supplies.

Staff Scheduling, Training and Management
o Responsible for training and scheduling employees to run the store and submitting biweekly hours.
o Educating employees on different egg production types – ex. Organic vs. Freerange vs Enriched etc.
o Provide updates on employees and any suggestions or questions to help improve their knowledge of our products we sell at The Egg Store. Ex. Is a farm visit required for better employee understanding.
o Observing inventory numbers and making sure every item is inputting everything correctly.
o Presenting presentations and create meetings with employees.
o Market deadlines are met by filling coolers with dozens of eggs.
Responsible for the general cleanliness of The Egg Store (inside and out) and ensuring employees are following food safe protocols
o Monitoring cooler temps, running properly, no soggy eggs.
o Food safety protocol – ie. wearing gloves, using sanitizer, masks, health checks completed etc.
o Garbage is emptied, fly/rodent control is being maintained.
o Windows and sills, washroom and outdoor sitting areas are cleaned.
o Parking lot is free from debris an the outside garbage can is taken out.
o Store is being opened, closed and locked up properly.
Managing the store sales, float as well as counting and tracking cash; noting any discrepancies/issues
o Recording stats on excel and reporting to management.
o Ensuring deposit slips are done and submitting correctly at the end of shift.
o Ensuring POS system is being used properly – returns and records are in order.
o Ensuring pricing and info is up to date on all platforms – on retail fridges, vending machine prices.
o In charge of ensuring the till float has enough coins to last the week.
o Good at communicating with the bookkeeper about the till float and discrepancies made.
Reporting to management about any issues and concerns customers may have.
o Able to take and discern feedback from employees and customer requests.
o Excellent skills at mitigating customer issues.
o Good at building incredible team player relationships.
Events
o The Board Room requires a deep cleaning before every event which can take up to 3 hours outside of work hours. This responsibility will be given to the Floor Manager to clean and/or instruct an employee to clean if the Manager or Floor Manager is away.
o Responsible for replying voicemails and inquiries about the event space, and working with the floor manager and event coordinator. Give tours of the event space when needed.

Qualifications & Requirements:
· Have a team first mindset - to build relationships with your co-workers and customers.

· Preference given to secondary education.
· Preference given to applicants with experience in customer service and/or administrative tasks.
· Capable in Microsoft Office and Outlook, Word and Excel Programs.
· Exceptional communication skills (verbally and nonverbally ex. on email and text).
· Self motivated, organized, and can work independently.
· Going above and beyond to meet customers needs.
· Able to maintain confidentiality and trust.
· Commitment to service excellence and product quality.
· Critical thinking skills – able to solve problems and or provide solutions before raising a problem.
