Overview

We are seeking a dedicated IT Support Specialist to join our technology team. This role is essential in providing comprehensive technical support to ensure smooth operations across our organization. The ideal candidate will possess strong problem-solving skills, excellent communication abilities, and a solid understanding of various operating systems and networking concepts. As an IT Support Specialist, you will be responsible for troubleshooting hardware and software issues, supporting end-users, and maintaining IT infrastructure to uphold high service standards.

Duties

  • Provide technical support for desktop and laptop computers across Windows, macOS, and Linux operating systems.
  • Assist users with software troubleshooting, including Microsoft Office applications and other business-critical programs.
  • Manage and resolve issues related to computer hardware, peripherals, and network connectivity (LAN).
  • Support VPN configurations and troubleshoot remote access issues for secure connectivity.
  • Maintain and support network security measures such as firewalls and other security appliances.
  • Utilize service management tools like ServiceNow, Jira, BMC Remedy to track incidents and requests efficiently.
  • Perform basic network troubleshooting including LAN setup, configuration, and maintenance.
  • Assist with operating system updates, software installations, and hardware upgrades.
  • Support help desk operations by responding promptly to user inquiries via phone or ticketing systems.
  • Document technical procedures and solutions clearly for future reference.
  • Collaborate with the IT team on projects related to system upgrades, security enhancements, and infrastructure improvements.

Requirements

  • Proven experience in IT support or desktop support roles with knowledge of Windows, macOS, and Linux operating systems.
  • Familiarity with computer networking concepts including LAN setup, firewalls, VPNs, and firewall management.
  • Experience using service management tools such as ServiceNow, Jira, or BMC Remedy for incident tracking.
  • Strong troubleshooting skills related to hardware components and software applications.
  • Knowledge of software tools like Microsoft Office Suite and common enterprise applications.
  • Ability to communicate technical information effectively to non-technical users.
  • Customer service-oriented mindset with excellent communication skills.
  • Basic understanding of operating systems installation, configuration, and maintenance procedures.
  • Relevant certifications such as CompTIA A+, Network+, or Microsoft Certified Professional are a plus but not required. Job Types: Full-time, Part-time

Pay: $50,000.00-$60,000.00 per year

Expected hours: 40 per week
