Position Summary

We are seeking a motivated and detail-oriented Assistant Manager to join our leadership team. In this role, you will support the Store Manager in overseeing daily operations, ensuring compliance with all regulations, and maintaining the high standards that define The Hempire brand. The ideal candidate is a strong communicator, organized, and capable of leading by example in a fast-paced, customer-focused environment.

Key Responsibilities

  • Support all aspects of daily store operations, including opening/closing procedures, cash management, and merchandising.
  • Lead, train, and motivate team members to deliver exceptional customer experiences and uphold company standards.
  • Ensure full compliance with provincial and federal cannabis regulations, including AGCO requirements.
  • Conduct regular product audits to ensure inventory accuracy, prevent discrepancies, and maintain compliance.
  • Oversee product ordering, receiving, and inventory management using established tracking systems.
  • Assist in developing sales goals, performance reports, and operational strategies to drive growth.
  • Maintain a clean, organized, and professional retail environment that reflects The Hempire's values.
  • Address customer inquiries and issues with professionalism and care.
  • Serve as the acting manager in the Store Manager's absence, ensuring smooth and compliant operations.

Qualifications

  • Minimum 2 years of retail management or assistant management experience (cannabis or regulated retail preferred).
  • Proven leadership skills with the ability to train, coach, and inspire a team.
  • Strong understanding of retail operations, including inventory control, auditing, and POS systems.
  • Excellent communication, organization, and problem-solving abilities.
  • Knowledge of cannabis products and current industry trends is an asset.
  • Must meet legal requirements to work in a licensed cannabis retail store in Ontario.
  • Availability to work evenings, weekends, and holidays as required.

Job Types: Full-time, Permanent

Pay: $19.00-$21.00 per hour

Expected hours: 30 – 40 per week
