Role Summary
We're seeking an experienced Plant Manager to lead our food manufacturing and warehousing facility. In this pivotal role, you will oversee daily production and warehousing work while scaling our team and processes to increase capacity. You'll be responsible for developing our people, fostering accountability, solving problems in real-time, and making sound decisions. The ideal candidate is a dynamic, hands-on leader who champions continuous improvement, ensures strict food safety compliance, and inspires a culture of teamwork, good judgment, and excellence on the production floor.
Responsibilities
- Operational Oversight: Oversee and manage all daily plant operations and team members to meet production, warehousing, quality, and safety standards that comply with our HACCP program.
- Team Leadership: Lead and mentor the team, fostering a positive and accountable work culture. Supervise and train employees in proper procedures and best practices, and develop their skills through regular feedback, coaching, and recognition in a supportive environment.
- Quality & Food Safety: Partner with Quality Assurance Manager to uphold food safety standards, ensuring ongoing HACCP compliance and continuous improvement across all facility activities.
- Safety & Maintenance: Champion a clean, organized, and safety-first environment through regular equipment checks, preventive maintenance, and consistent health and safety training.
Qualifications
- Experience: Minimum 5+ years of experience in a production leadership role within the food manufacturing industry. Experience managing in a fast-paced, growth-oriented environment is preferred.
- Food Safety Expertise: Proven experience in a HACCP-certified food production environment, with strong knowledge of food safety and quality standards.
- Leadership Skills: A hands-on leader who leads by example on the production floor and can inspire, coach, and develop staff at all levels.
- Communication & Problem-Solving: Strong communication, interpersonal and strong problem-solving skills, with sound judgment and the ability to make decisions under time-pressures.
- Systems & Tools: Able to learn and leverage production management systems and tools.
