With the goal of bringing you a unique beer and coffee experience, specializing in small-batch craft beer and freshly roasted coffee from around the world. With a commitment to innovation, quality, and authenticity, Dark Woods continues to grow its presence across Alberta. We're now looking for a driven, beer and coffee loving Southern Alberta sales rep to help take our brands to the next level in retail and on-premise markets across the province.
The Role
As our Southern Alberta sales rep, you will be the face of Dark Woods brewery in the field. Your mission: grow our market presence, build long-term customer relationships, and drive sales across both on- and off-premise channels throughout central Alberta.
This is a high-impact, autonomous role ideal for a passionate sales professional who knows the Alberta craft beer and coffee scene and thrives on getting great product into the right hands.
Key Responsibilities
- Grow Sales: Contribute to building and executing sales strategy to achieve volume and distribution targets across Alberta
- Account Management: Maintain strong relationships with existing accounts while prospecting and securing new ones
- On-Premise & Off-Premise: Call on bars, restaurants, pubs, liquor stores, coffee shops, and retail chains to increase brand presence
- Brand Building: Ensure Dark woods brewery is represented with pride—execute brand standards, POS placement, and displays
- Event Representation: Attend and support beer festivals, tastings, tap takeovers, and industry events
- Collaborate: Work cross-functionally with our brewery sales and operations manager, production, and marketing teams to align goals
- Reporting & CRM: Track and ensure diligent use of the company's CRM system to manage customer interactions and sales activities
- Educate: Conduct staff trainings and tasting sessions with retail and bar teams to tell the Dark woods story
About You
- 2–5 years of relevant sales experience in the alcohol or craft beer industry would be an asset
- Cultural cheerleader. Lives our guiding principles.
- Energy - we need great energy out there representing our brands
- Self-motivator – we are looking for someone who can motivate themselves every morning to get after growing our business
- Computer skills ie. Office, Power Point, Excel - but with the right attitude we can teach the rest. Showing up with passion and delivering a concise message to your customers is what we are after
- Ability to follow the game plan - we need someone who will wholeheartedly execute the aligned upon strategy first, and bring their own flare to supplement our winning strategy.
- Ability to roll with the punches - adaptability and improvisation are key
- Communications skills - this is a MUST have. The right candidate will be engaging and leave every interaction making the person feel motivated to support our products, because they just felt great after speaking with us.
- Strong knowledge of the Alberta liquor market (AGLC experience an asset)
- Proven track record of meeting or exceeding sales goals in a territory-based role is an asset
- Excellent relationship-building and communication skills
- Passion for craft beer, coffee, and a deep understanding of its culture
- Organized, self-motivated, and able to work independently in a field-based position
- Valid driver's license and ability to travel extensively across Alberta
- Able to lift kegs and beer cases as required (up to 50 lbs)
