Job Description:

  • Performing routine inspections of the yard to identify areas that need attention.
  • Maintaining and repairing fences, gates, and barriers around the yard.
  • Sweeping and removing debris, trash, and other materials from the yard.
  • Managing the disposal of waste, including hazardous materials like oil and chemicals.
  • Keeping loading docks, parking areas, and storage areas clean and organized.
  • Performing basic repairs on equipment and coordinating with mechanics for more complex issues.
  • Ensuring that tools and equipment are properly stored and in good working condition.
  • Installing and maintaining safety signage, barriers, and lighting.
  • Conducting regular safety checks, including fire safety and spill containment measures.
  • Clearing snow and ice from the yard, driveways, and walkways during winter months.
  • Applying salt or other de-icing materials to prevent slips and falls.
  • Operating snow removal equipment such as plows and snow blowers.
  • Managing the inventory of maintenance supplies, such as fuel, oil, and cleaning materials.
  • Ordering and restocking supplies as needed to ensure continuous operations.
  • Responding to emergencies such as spills, leaks, or equipment failures.
  • Coordinating with emergency services.
  • Reporting maintenance needs and safety concerns to supervisors.

Job Requirements:

  • Secondary school education is usually required.
  • Previous 1-2 years experience may be required.
