Job Summary

NomadHomes is seeking a highly skilled and proactive Building Superintendent to oversee the safety, maintenance, and operation of two buildings in the west end of Kingston. The ideal candidate will possess strong background in residential maintenance, building systems, and working with contractors. This position requires a hands-on approach to maintaining buildings, working with contractors, and ensuring compliance with safety. The Building Superintendent will play an important role in maintaining a safe, functional, and well-maintained resident for all occupants.

Duties

  • Respond to emergencies, work with contractors and Management, and assist residents as needed.
  • Carry out and log preventative maintenance inspections and procedures on the building and any mechanical equipment, and report any deficiencies to Management.
  • Maintain a clean, safe, and healthy environment throughout the property.
  • Bring garbage and recycling for disposal to the curb.
  • Track and communicate maintenance, deficiencies, vandalism, and inventory requirements to Management.
  • Clean floors, lobbies, and other common elements on a regular recurring schedule.
  • Perform painting and touch-ups as needed.
  • Complete minor repairs in common areas as required.
  • Follow procedures and follow-up on all requests.
  • Perform ongoing preventative maintenance tasks.
  • Clean floors, lobbies, and other common elements on a regular recurring schedule.
  • Maintenance cleaning equipment, including carpet cleaners, polishing/waxing machines, and small power tools.
  • Learn the floor-plan of each building.
  • Lift materials and equipment up to 23 kg (50 lbs).
  • Related duties as required.

Skills

  • Strong maintenance experience in a residential buildings.
  • General awareness of building mechanical systems.
  • Excellent communication skills in English.
  • Knowledge of building maintenance practices and safety standards.
  • Ability to troubleshoot issues and work with contractors.

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $35,000.00-$40,000.00 per year
