What will I be doing?

  • Develop and implement enterprise talent strategies, frameworks, and governance for performance, development, and succession, including formalized talent review cadence and readiness ratings.
  • Lead the design and execution of career development strategies, including skills-based organization initiatives, enterprise skills taxonomy, and automation of skills data pipelines.
  • Oversee modernization of performance management processes, including goal architecture, feedback loops, calibration, and leader enablement tools.
  • Drive succession planning and leadership pipeline strategies, including talent reviews and readiness assessments, through structured talent forums and readiness assessments.
  • Strategically lead and integrate early career program into talent strategies, positioning the program as a critical feeder pool for future leadership and specialized roles that strengthen our long-term talent pipeline.
  • Establish and manage enterprise mentorship and sponsorship programs with measurable cohort outcomes (progression, retention, diversity), ensuring equitable access and measurable impact.
  • Partner with COEs and HRBPs to integrate talent programs with learning, DEI, and workforce planning initiatives, including scenario modeling.
  • Monitor and report on talent metrics, program effectiveness, and organizational capability trends; recommend improvements based on data insights.
  • Stay abreast of industry best practices and emerging technologies to evolve talent management processes and automation capabilities.

What Skills and Qualifications Do I Need?

  • Degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, Organizational Development, or related discipline – or a combination of education, training and experience deemed equivalent.
  • Minimum 8–10 years in talent management or related HR leadership roles within large, complex organizations.
  • HR or Talent Management certifications (e.g., CHRL, CTDP, PROSCI) considered an asset.
  • Talent Management Expertise: Deep knowledge of performance management, succession planning, career development, and mobility frameworks. Ability to use logic, creativity and innovation when developing solutions to problems, considering any potential client impact.
  • Competency Frameworks & Career Pathways: Ability to design and implement competency-based systems and career architecture.
  • Adult Learning Theory: Understanding of learning needs analysis, performance gap analysis, and principles of adult learning to support mentoring, sponsorship, and leader enablement programs.
  • HR Technology & Talent Platforms: Advanced knowledge of HCM, talent management systems, and emerging technologies for skills-based organizations.
  • Project & Change Management: Expertise in managing complex, multi-stakeholder projects and applying structured project management and change methodologies (e.g., PMI, PROSCI). Proven ability to manage and prioritize multiple projects and work towards tight deadlines, including last-minute changes, and alignment of resources to ensure priorities are met. 
  • Data-Driven Decision Making: Ability to analyze talent data, create dashboards, and use insights to inform strategy. Ability to exercise judgment in a highly complex environment and ensure appropriate involvement of stakeholders, including leadership and executive teams. 
  • Vendor & Contract Management: Skills in vendor and contract management, negotiation and influencing skills to advise on procurement strategies and negotiate contractual obligations and amendments with vendors.
  • Policy Development & Governance: Knowledge of governance frameworks for talent processes and compliance with organizational standards.
  • Leadership and Management: Skills to manage and motivate a team, as well as cross-functional teams, and set high standards and clear expectations.
  • Communication & Facilitation: Strong ability to present strategies, lead workshops, and influence senior stakeholders. 
  • Continuous Improvement: Familiarity with Lean or similar methodologies to optimize talent processes.
  • Organizational Navigation & Political Acuity: Demonstrated political acuity to effectively work across divisions with senior leaders and with enterprise partners to advance programs and initiatives.
  • Technology Proficiency: High proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Outlook, Excel, PowerPoint, Word, Teams) and business intelligence tools (e.g. Power BI).
