Overview

We are seeking an experienced and detail-oriented Bookkeeper/Accountant to join our team in North York. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in accounting, financial reporting, and day-to-day bookkeeping. You'll play an essential role in maintaining accurate financial records, managing accounts payable/receivable, and supporting overall financial operations. Your practical, hands-on experience in an Ontario-based office setting makes you well-versed in applicable provincial regulations regarding bookkeeping for Canadian businesses.

Duties

  • Maintain and reconcile general ledgers, bank accounts, and financial statements
  • Prepare monthly, quarterly, and year-end financial reports
  • Manage accounts payable, accounts receivable, and payroll
  • Support budgeting and forecasting processes
  • Ensure compliance with accounting standards and government regulations
  • Liaise with management, vendors, and external accountants as required
  • Assist with tax preparation and audit support

Requirements

  • Post-secondary education in Accounting, Finance, or a related field required
  • Minimum 2 years experience in accounting or bookkeeping in an Ontario-based office/setting - references will be required
  • Minimum 2 years experience with Quickbooks and Microsoft Excel
  • Proficiency with additional accounting software and Microsoft Office 365 an asset
  • Fluent in written and oral English
  • Strong attention to detail and organizational skills
  • Excellent communication and time management abilities
  • Knowledge of Canadian GAAP and CRA compliance required
