Organizational Overview

The Regional Learning Centre (RLC), funded by Nucleus Independent Living, strengthens the skills, confidence, and clinical judgement of Personal Support Workers (PSWs) and frontline leaders across Ontario. Through evidence-based education, applied learning, and strong community partnerships, the RLC supports high-quality community-based care, workforce sustainability, and health system integration, ultimately to benefit clients and caregivers.

Position Summary

This is an exciting expansion of a proven, high-impact model that is transforming how community-based services are delivered. By elevating education, leadership, and collaboration at the regional level, this work directly benefits clients, caregivers, and partners, setting a new standard for quality and sustainability in community care.

The Community Clinical Educator – Southwestern Ontario is a regionally-embedded clinical education leadership role focused on delivering, adapting, and advancing high-quality PSW education across community-based partner organizations. Situated within a host partner organization in Southwestern Ontario, this role requires frequent regional travel combined with virtual education delivery. Reporting to the Executive Director, RLC, the Community Clinical Educator contributes to frontline workforce development, regional education quality, and continuous improvement initiatives aligned with RLC strategy.

Key Responsibilities – Education Delivery

  • Deliver RLC-designed education aligned with PSW scope of practice and Ontario standards
    • Facilitate primarily in-person education with supplemental virtual delivery
    • Adapt education materials to reflect partner needs and learner diversity
    • Deliver education across medication management, dementia care, infection prevention, safe client handling, and

responsive behaviors along with other topics as identified
• Evaluate learner outcomes and incorporate feedback into program improvement

· Demonstrate measurable improvements in learner confidence, competence, and application to practice

Key Responsibilities – Regional Leadership & Collaboration

  • Serve as the regional education contact for Southwestern Ontario
    • Build and maintain trusted relationships with community partners to design local solutions for workforce gaps
    • Participate in regional planning tables, communities of practice, and leadership discussions
    • Identify emerging workforce gaps, design local solutions and communicate insights to RLC leadership for provincial impact
    • Support pilot projects and innovative learning models focused on education

  • Act as a trusted clinical education advisor to partner organizations and frontline leaders
    • Influence practice improvement through collaboration rather than direct authority

Key Responsibilities – Quality & Program Improvement

  • Contribute to the development and refinement of RLC curriculum
    • Support alignment with evidence-based practice and adult learning principles
    • Participate in education evaluation, outcome measurement, and reporting
    • Support blended learning and e-learning initiatives
    • Contribute to the evolution and scaling of the RLC model through innovation, evaluation, and continuous learning

Qualifications & Experience

Required:
• Baccalaureate Degree in Nursing (or equivalent combination of education and experience)
• Current registration in good standing with the College of Nurses of Ontario
• Experience educating, mentoring, or coaching frontline staff (minimum 3-5 years)
• Strong understanding of PSW roles in community care
• Ability to work independently in a mobile role
• Valid driver's license and reliable vehicle Assets:
• Experience in community, home care, or long-term care
• Knowledge of adult education and knowledge translation
• Certified facilitator (GPA, ASIST, Mental Health First Aid)
