Overview
We are seeking an individual to fill a part time position, who works well in a small team dynamic. Our office takes pride in our attention and care that we give to each patient that comes through our door. We strive for a positive atmosphere and efficient processes as we manage ocular health and emergencies. We are open to teaching and training the right individual who feels they might be a good addition to our team. Additionally, this position is the stepping stone to an Administrative Assistant position for the right candidate.
Responsibilities
- Greeting and assisting clients and visitors in a friendly and professional manner.
- Maintaining patient confidentiality
- Creating and maintenance of patient files
- Scheduling and managing appointment bookings
- Patient greeting, checking in, and re-booking appointments
- Phone message tasking, documenting and redirecting
- Ensuring optimal patient and office flow
- Reception area and waiting room upkeep and tidiness
Skills
- Enthusiastic, self motivated, adaptable, and quick learner
- Strong time management and multi tasking abilities
- Effective organizational skills and excellent attention to detail
- Comfortable and competent computer skills
- Strong trouble shooting and problem solving skills
- Ability to prioritize tasks
- Certificate in medical office administration is an asset but not required
- Possess advanced written and verbal communication skills with a strict attention to detail
- Possess strong interpersonal skills to maintain customer relationships with patients
- Highly considered assets: OHIP billing experience, Accuro EMR, Ophthalmology or Optometry office background or awareness of terminology, Administrative Assistant experience.

- Secondary School (Preferred)
- Front Desk (Preferred)
Job Type: Part-time
Pay: From $20.00 per hour
Expected hours: No less than 15 per week
