Axis Workforce provides workforce management, payroll administration, Employer-of-Record services, and contractor compliance solutions for businesses across Alberta and beyond. We help organizations streamline onboarding, reduce administrative burden, and improve financial and operational efficiency for both employers and workers.

As we continue to grow, we are hiring a Business Developer to expand our client base, build strategic partnerships, and elevate our brand in the workforce-solutions and contractor-services market.

Note: This role will primarily focus on Axis Workforce, but may also provide business-development support to a related company under the same ownership (professional financial services). This support will be clearly defined and integrated into the overall sales strategy.

Key Responsibilities

  • Develop and execute a business-development strategy to grow Axis Workforce's footprint across staffing, payroll, contractor compliance, and Employer-of-Record services.
  • Identify, prospect, and build relationships with small and medium-sized businesses, contractors, and industry partners.
  • Conduct outbound outreach, discovery calls, and client meetings (virtual or in-person).
  • Prepare proposals, present tailored service packages, and negotiate service agreements.
  • Collaborate with internal teams to ensure smooth onboarding and excellent client experience.
  • Track leads, maintain CRM data, and report on sales metrics and pipeline targets.
  • Identify opportunities for cross-service referrals to a related company (financial services) when appropriate.
  • Represent the brand at networking events, industry functions, and partnership meetings.
  • Provide market intelligence and feedback to leadership on pricing, service positioning, and emerging opportunities.

Qualifications

  • 2+ years of experience in business development, B2B sales, or account management.
  • Experience in any of the following is an asset:
  • staffing or recruitment
  • payroll or HR services
  • contractor/subcontractor industries
  • financial, bookkeeping, or consulting services
  • Strong communication, interpersonal, and negotiation skills.
  • Comfortable working independently and driving measurable sales outcomes.
  • Entrepreneurial mindset with the ability to identify opportunities and build relationships.
  • Valid driver's license and reliable transportation (occasional travel for client meetings).

Compensation

Base Salary:

  • $55,000 – $65,000 per year, based on experience.

Commission Structure:

  • 5% commission on net new revenue generated for the first 12 months.
  • Pipeline development bonuses.
  • Tiered accelerators for exceeding quarterly or annual targets.
  • Recurring-revenue commissions available for long-term client contracts.
  • No commission cap.
