Location
This is a hybrid position. You must be in the Ottawa, Canada office, at least three days a week.
About the teamKinaxis is looking for a Financial Analyst Co-Op candidate to work within our Financial Planning & Analysis (FP&A) team. As a member of the FP&A team, you will support internal financial reporting, financial analysis, and contribute to recurring deliverables. Our ideal candidate is a detail-oriented and results-driven critical thinker who is willing to learn and be a proactive team player.
This is a great opportunity to gain hands-on experience in financial analysis and work alongside experienced finance professionals at a fast-paced, innovation-driven technology company.
This is a full-time, 8 or 12-month position, starting January 2026 and is open only to students in a registered Co-op Program in Ontario.
What you will do
- Data extraction and analysis to develop, prepare and present financial data that is timely, accurate, and reliable
- Provide financial recommendations based on prepared analysis that is relevant for effective business decision making
- Support quarterly forecasting and annual budgeting processes for functional groups by collaborating with other key stakeholders and collecting and consolidating data from relevant areas
- Deeply understand the nature of the functional group you are supporting; Support their evolving business needs through financial analysis by understanding and modeling key drivers and metrics.
- Prepare monthly management reporting deliverables that clearly communicate actual performance vs. budget and key metrics.
- Work closely with the HR Business Partner team to provide consistent communication of objectives and adjustments to the forecast
- May perform additional ad-hoc projects or provide support to other teams within Finance upon request
What we are looking for
- Currently enrolled in a Bachelor's degree program in Commerce or Business with a specialization/major in Accounting or Finance
- Strong attention to detail and ability to manage priorities to meet deadlines
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
- Demonstrated initiative and enthusiasm for learning and solving problems
Things that would definitely help
- Prior relevant experience in Accounting or Finance
- Experience with Microsoft Office, specifically Microsoft Excel, Word, and PowerPoint
- Interest in or exposure to business cases, financial model, or data visualization (e.g., PowerPoint, Power BI)
- Familiarity with IFRS accounting principles
