Commercial Duct Cleaning Technician

KTair is expanding We're a Red Deer–based company growing into the Edmonton area, and we're looking for one motivated individual to join our team as a Commercial Duct Cleaning Technician. This position will start as casual / part time, and as our sales team prospects more jobs we will have the opportunity for full time employment plus occasional overtime. It is very important that the potential candidate understands there may be times where we have no jobs on the board, especially in the beginning, but as we grow, we anticipate great, full time positions.

This is a great opportunity to work with our flagship crew and van set up, as you will work with our experienced techs as we grow our commercial division. These jobs will include office buildings, apartments, warehouses. shops, etc. There will be occasional night shift and weekend work, when either of those cases arise we will give as much notice as possible. There may be residential work as well, if the commercial sector is experiencing a slow period.

Training

Full hands-on training will be provided by KTair. Training will take place after you are hired, working alongside our experienced technicians on active job sites to learn all processes and gain practical experience with the tools and equipment. We use our vacs, whips, and air lines to clean and sanitize the duct work, AC coils, and Roof top units in commercial buildings. To be efficient at this job you will need good time management skills, be physically fit, and not afraid to get a little dirty.

  • Clean criminal record check
  • Strong work ethic and reliability
  • Excellent communication and people skills
  • Ability to work independently and unsupervised
  • Physically capable (the job involves walking, lifting, and handling equipment)
  • Comfortable working on ladders and at heights
  • Proficient with both hand and power tools
  • Comfortable using compressed air and the tools with it
  • strong safety awareness
  • Strong problem-solving skills — every home and building are a little different
  • Strong english proficiency, it's important our clients know exactly what we're doing in their homes and workplaces, and we want to offer top tier communication

Additional Assets

  • Duct cleaning experience is a huge asset, especially using Hypervac
  • Background in plumbing or HVAC (major asset)
  • Proven job history and reliability
  • Sales experience (helpful for upselling additional services)
  • General experience using power tools

Compensation

  • Starting wage: $26/hour
  • Opportunity for a pay increase after a 3-month probation period
  • Wage negotiable for experienced applicants
  • benefits after 6 months
