Our client, a leading organization in the energy sector, is looking to hire a Contract Production Accountant for a 6-month term (with potential for extension or conversion to full-time). This is a hybrid role based in Calgary.

Responsibilities

  • Manage full-cycle production accounting for Alberta and Saskatchewan operations, including production, revenue, and royalty reporting, ensuring accuracy and timeliness.
  • Analyze production, revenue, and royalty data, reconciling discrepancies with the general ledger.
  • Maintain and update master file setups and property changes.
  • Support operations, finance, and engineering teams with accounting and reporting needs.
  • Implement updates to property accounting related to regulatory changes, measurement adjustments, complex allocations, and audit findings.
  • Provide backup coverage for team members and participate in amendment and ad hoc projects as required.

Must-Have Skills

  • 5–9 years of experience in full-cycle production accounting within the oil and gas industry.
  • Strong experience with Alberta and Saskatchewan conventional oil and gas, including SK heavy oil properties.
  • Proficient in Metrix Production Accounting, Petrinex, EC Field Data Capture, PVR Data Capture, SAP, and Land Systems.
  • Solid understanding of allocations, measurement, audit processes, and regulatory compliance.
  • Advanced Excel skills with proven ability in data management and reporting.
  • Highly organized, detail-oriented, and comfortable in a fast-paced, deadline-driven environment.
  • Excellent communication and collaboration skills with the ability to liaise across multiple departments.
  • Bachelor's degree and CAPPA certification, or equivalent combination of education and experience.
