Job Overview

We are seeking a detail-oriented and organized Ocean Import Coordinator/Logistics Assistant to join our logistics team. In this role, you will be responsible for managing the importation of goods via ocean freight, ensuring compliance with regulations, and coordinating with various stakeholders to facilitate smooth operations. The ideal candidate will possess strong communication skills and a thorough understanding of import processes.

Duties

  • Coordinate and manage the import process for ocean freight shipments from origin to destination.
  • Prepare and review necessary documentation, including bills of lading, customs declarations, and import permits.
  • Communicate with shipping lines, customs brokers, and suppliers to ensure timely delivery of goods.
  • Monitor shipment status and proactively address any issues that arise during transit.
  • Maintain accurate records of shipments and provide updates to relevant parties as needed.
  • Collaborate with internal teams to streamline processes and improve overall efficiency in the import operations.

Skills

  • Understanding of ocean freight logistics and import regulations.
  • Excellent organizational skills with a keen attention to detail.
  • Proficient in using Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Word).
  • Effective communication skills, both written and verbal.
  • Knowledge of Chinese language is an asset.
  • Ability to work independently as well as part of a team in a fast-paced environment.
  • Problem-solving skills to address challenges that may arise during the import process.
