Journeyman CWB Welder

Job Summary
We are seeking a skilled journeyman CWB welder to join our manufacturing team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for fabricating, assembling, and welding metal components using mainly flux core and MIG welding procedures. This role requires an ability to read drawings, mechanical knowledge, and proficiency with a range of tools and machinery. We are looking for a candidate who takes pride in his/her work and has strong fitting and fabrication skills. The ideal candidate will also have leadership ability and assist with directing and managing work in the shop.
Duties
- Perform flux core and MIG welding according to drawings and blueprints
- Read and interpret technical drawings, schematics, and assembly instructions
- Operate plasma cutters and various shop tools
- Measure, cut, and fit parts accurately
- Rigging and positioning materials using cranes and forklifts
- Conduct inspections to ensure welds meet size and quality standards
- Assist co-workers with measuring, fitting, and assembly as needed
- Assist with directing and managing work in the shop
- Maintain a clean and safe work environment
Experience
- Proven experience in welding (flux core) within manufacturing, construction, or fabrication environments
- Mechanical knowledge of standard shop machinery
- Familiarity with blueprint reading, schematics, and basic math for precise measurements
- Ability to operate hand tools, power tools, and welding equipment efficiently
- Experience with rigging
- Experience with overhead cranes
- Experience operating fork lifts
- Experience with fitting and fabrication is highly desirable
Job Types: Full-time, Permanent
Pay: $36.00-$40.00 per hour
Expected hours: 40 – 45 per week
