Position Overview
Andrew Cooper Incorporated is hiring a Journeyman Welder for a manufacturing focused role with a long term pathway into a Manufacturing Technician position. This role is intended for a certified welder who wants more than repetitive production welding and is interested in expanding into broader mechanical and technical responsibilities over time.
This is a welding first position. Welding competence is required from day one. Progression into a technician role occurs through demonstrated capability interest and participation in structured skill development including eligibility for ASET Certified Technician designation where applicable.
This position is not suitable for candidates without journeyman welding certification or valid CWB SMAW qualifications.

Work Schedule
Average of approximately thirty six hours per week based on manufacturing workload and project requirements. This position is considered full time under company policy when minimum hour thresholds are met.
Primary Responsibilities
Structural and fabrication welding using SMAW and related processes
Welding of mild steel and related materials
Cutting fitting and preparation of welded components
Use of shop equipment including saws grinders drills and presses
Participation in manufacturing assembly and engineered equipment builds
Safe operation of equipment including skid steer where required
Work to engineered drawings specifications and quality standards
Maintain a clean safe and organized work environment
Required Qualifications
Journeyman Welder certification OR valid CWB SMAW certification
Ability to weld to code and maintain consistent quality
Strong understanding of welding safety and shop practices
Ability to work independently and follow engineered instructions
Reliable attendance and professional work habits
Preferred Experience
Manufacturing or fabrication shop experience
Mechanical assembly or equipment installation exposure
Interest in expanding beyond welding into technical responsibilities
Skid steer or equipment operation experience is an asset

Compensation
Hourly wage of thirty dollars per hour.
Benefits
Benefits are available after six months of employment for employees who meet the company definition of full time status.
