Duties
- Assist the Executive Chef in managing all aspects of kitchen operations, including food preparation, presentation, and service standards.
- Supervise and mentor kitchen staff, promoting teamwork and professional growth through effective leadership and training.
- Oversee food production processes, ensuring dishes meet quality standards, consistency, and presentation expectations.
- Manage inventory control and food safety compliance by monitoring stock levels, ordering supplies, and maintaining proper storage procedures.
- Coordinate with catering and banquet teams to deliver seamless event execution, adhering to specific dietary requirements and client specifications.
- Implement menu planning alongside the culinary team, incorporating seasonal ingredients and innovative dishes to enhance guest satisfaction.
- Oversee shift management by organizing staffing schedules, assigning tasks, and ensuring smooth operational flow during busy hours.
- Maintain a clean, organized kitchen environment that complies with health regulations and safety protocols.
- Support food service management by ensuring timely delivery of orders and resolving any issues promptly.
- Contribute to restaurant management efforts by participating in staff meetings, performance evaluations, and continuous improvement initiatives.
- Handle food handling procedures responsibly to uphold high standards of hygiene and safety across all culinary activities.
- Collaborate with the dietary department when preparing specialized menus for guests with specific dietary needs or restrictions.
- Assist in bartending duties when necessary to ensure a cohesive beverage and food experience for guests.
Experience
Candidates should bring substantial culinary experience within fast-paced restaurant environments, ideally with a background in fine dining settings. Proven supervising experience is essential—demonstrating your ability to lead diverse teams effectively while maintaining high standards of food quality and safety. Experience with banquet services, catering events, or large-scale food production will be highly valued. Familiarity with inventory management systems, food safety regulations (such as HACCP), and kitchen management tools is important for success in this role. A strong understanding of food industry best practices—including menu planning, shift management, and hospitality principles—is required. Candidates with experience in the food service or restaurant management sectors who possess excellent leadership skills will thrive here.
