Job Summary

We are seeking a dedicated Veterinary Assistant to join our veterinary team. This role involves providing support to veterinarians and veterinary technicians in delivering high-quality care to animals. The ideal candidate will be compassionate, detail-oriented, and eager to contribute to the well-being of our animal patients. Experience in laboratory procedures is a plus, but training will be provided for specific tasks. This position offers an opportunity to gain valuable experience in a professional veterinary environment.

Duties

  • Assist veterinarians and technicians during examinations, treatments, and surgeries
  • Prepare examination rooms and sterilize equipment to ensure a clean and safe environment
  • Hold animals safely during procedures to minimize stress and injury
  • Maintain accurate patient records and update medical histories
  • Monitor animals' health status and report any concerns to veterinary staff
  • Support laboratory work by processing samples and maintaining lab equipment
  • Provide compassionate care and comfort to animals and support pet owners as needed

Requirements

  • Prior laboratory experience is preferred but not mandatory; training will be provided for laboratory procedures
  • Compassionate attitude toward animals and pet owners
  • Strong attention to detail and organizational skills
  • Ability to work effectively both independently and as part of a team
  • Excellent communication skills
  • Ability to handle animals safely and calmly in stressful situations
  • Flexibility to adapt to changing priorities within a fast-paced environment
