We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate Veterinary Technician to join our team. In this role, you will provide essential support to veterinarians in the care and treatment of animals. You will be responsible for a variety of tasks that ensure the health and well-being of our patients, while also contributing to a positive experience for pet owners. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in animal care, excellent communication skills, and a passion for veterinary medicine.
Responsibilities
- Assist veterinarians during examinations and surgical procedures.
- Perform laboratory tests, including blood work and urinalysis.
- Administer medications and vaccinations as directed by the veterinarian.
- Monitor animal patients' vital signs and behavior before, during, and after procedures.
- Prepare animals for surgery by ensuring proper hygiene and anesthesia protocols.
- Maintain accurate medical records and documentation for each patient.
- Educate pet owners on post-operative care, nutrition, and general wellness.
- Ensure cleanliness and organization of the clinic or hospital environment.
- Assist with the management of inventory and supplies.
Requirements
- A degree or certification in Veterinary Technology from an accredited institution is required.
- Previous experience as a Veterinary Technician or in an animal care setting is highly desirable.
- Proficiency in laboratory procedures and diagnostics is a plus.
- Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to communicate effectively with pet owners and team members.
- Compassionate attitude towards animals and their owners.
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment while maintaining attention to detail.
- Willingness to work flexible hours, including weekends or holidays as needed.
