We're currently expanding our operations and have several active projects in the Kelowna area. We're looking for an experienced Civil Construction Foreman to join our team and play a key leadership role in the successful delivery of projects.

Position Summary

Reporting to the Site Superintendent, the Civil Foreman is responsible for leading field crews, coordinating day-to-day site operations, and ensuring work is completed safely, efficiently, and to the highest standard. You will oversee all on-site civil construction activities including excavation, grading, underground utilities, roadworks, and environmental controls.

Key Responsibilities

Project Oversight & Leadership:

  • Supervise and coordinate civil construction crews on-site.
  • Schedule and manage daily operations including labour, equipment, and material allocation.
  • Lead daily toolbox talks and ensure compliance with WorkSafeBC safety regulations.
  • Interpret blueprints, civil drawings, and site plans to guide crews.
  • Ensure all work is executed according to contract specifications and municipal standards.

Quality & Safety Control:

  • Conduct regular site inspections to maintain high safety and quality standards.
  • Enforce environmental protection measures (dust control, erosion protection, etc.).
  • Complete and submit daily reports, site logs, and safety documentation.
  • Identify and resolve any site conflicts or technical issues proactively.

Stakeholder Coordination:

  • Communicate daily with Site Superintendent and Project Manager regarding progress, delays, and material needs.
  • Coordinate work with subcontractors, inspectors, and utility providers.
  • Train and mentor crew members to promote skill development and strong performance.

Qualifications:

  • Minimum 5 years experience in civil construction.
  • Proven ability to identify and resolve job site issues effectively.
  • Ability to work well under pressure and meet project deadlines.
  • Excellent leadership, communication, and time management skills.
  • Committed to a culture of safety and quality.
  • Must hold a valid Class 5 Driver's Licence and have reliable transportation to and from job sites.
  • Must be willing and able to work overtime and travel to various project sites throughout the Okanagan.
